  • work and school

the season is upon me and my postings will probably become fewer.  Summer classes were good, an eye opener.  got my syllabus for Pathophysiology and am freaking a little.  Numerous chapters every week, 4 exams, and huge powerpoints from the prof.  (first one is 46 PAGES – 3 slides to a page)

Teaching school begins the same day as grad school.  I will have 15 seniors and 16 juniors.  I have several students I am concerned about because of learning difficulties.  We shall see.  and the administration is micromanaging how a lab instructor teaches.  When will they learn?  never.

here at home the garden is doing well because I have watered every other day.  Emmie is almost done with her summer classes and will graduate with her 2 year early childhood degree next June.  so hard to believe.  my youngest will be off and running. She is considering a 12 week stint in Cleveland at the famous nanny school ($8800) and her dad and I told her to pray about it ~ ALOT.  That is a ton of money, but she believes her associate degree + the nanny school certificate will make her more marketable. I am praying.

and Sam is leading church camp for the young guns…. ages 7-12.  Ends tonight.  Thankfully the weather cooled down.  we are very concerned about his job – money is down at church again…. so payroll cuts are the first thing to happen.  I wonder what God thinks we haven’t learned yet.  The tax situation is taken care of thru the chapter 13 hearing. One day at a time.  also we got a new accountant as the old accountant didn’t know what he was doing.

and at the end of each day i am reminded the Lord is on His throne and He is faithful to care for me and want the best for me – even in the fallen world.  blessings!!!

  • Have you been posting all along and I haven’t been notified by xanga???? I hate when that happens!!! I’m glad you’re still here! That’s good advice to your girl about the nanny school; “pray about it”! My now 19 yr. old prayed about going to Texas for the last of her education. She began in Phx as a music major. Came home midyear, switched to Graphic Design at comm. college and now has the opportunity to go to Texas. God provides. At least her 1st semester is paid for! She’ll enter as “almost a junior”. I’ll be thrilled when she’s holding that degree at the end! Your schedule sounds hectic, to say the least! I do admire you for forging ahead!

  • @Richgem - hey there… no, I haven’t been able to post alot because I had two classes this summer as well.  I will have 2 classes a semester for 8 more semesters. plus my job and the house and the hubby and you know how that goes!  how are things in Arizona?  You guys safe and sound?  I have wondered about you with the fires and the politics and just everything!  I know what you mean about our girls and the degree.  Emmah could go on for her bachelor’s but I think she is concerned about the cost of it all.  But nanny school isn’t any cheaper!  You and I will just keep praying!  blessings dear, keep me posted!!  melinda

  • …and the house and the hubby….and yeah, I know how that goes! It’s getting different as we get older. We are safe and sound, thankfully. It’s a miracle we haven’t had a major fire in our town for a few years. We have pine forests! The politics don’t affect us much, except alot of illegals have left town. We have alot on our plate right now with the Texas trip and possibly moving my parents and sister here. THAT is a HUGE undertaking for my little old nervous system. But God knows and He SO wants to be glorified in all this! And yes, you and I will be praying; praying for our girls, our hubs, our whole famlies, our day to day existance and what all that means. I always wanted to be a Labor and Delivery nurse but never got to pursue that, so think of me when you’re teaching. Tell those students that if being a nurse is what they are passionate about, GO for it! I’ll be cheering you all on from way out here while I dust my furniture. { :  Love ya, Friend!
